Business description

About us

Hello, my name is John and I’ll be brief… I’ve worked for a few used car dealerships out here in Houston, TX for nearly 15 years. I know everything about used car financing both In House and Buy Here Pay Here. I started www.jkamalcars.com with the ambition of making the approval process for car shoppers with bad credit or no credit easy and bs free. And it starts with saving you a lot of time Because let’s face it: being on the market for a car sucks. You spend days researching the right car, right price, right monthly payment, checking out dealership reviews, and it’s worse if you have bad credit or no credit at all. Maybe you have a voluntary repo (repossession) because you were sold a lemon, or an involuntary repo due to being out of work, or a nasty divorce. Maybe a bankruptcy. Maybe you’re a first time car buyer and don’t know where to start. Whatever… At the end of the day we all have busy lives and nobody wants to spend hours sitting at a car lot waiting for the Salesman to give you approval results. This is the same Salesman who promised you the world and told you over the phone that everything would be okay. You called a few dealerships during your research phase, and he was the sweetest talker. Yet right now you’re here, and he’s getting your credit ran all over the place with third party banks spread throughout the country using your credit score and an algorithm to decide whether you’re approved or not. Meanwhile customers are coming in and out of the dealership and you’re just there. He later comes back asking you if you can find a cosigner, or propose a ridiculous amount of down payment. The same amount that could have bought you a decent used car for cash. And that’s how the story goes… Okay this is getting too long so let me just end it with this… We’re not special. And we do not approve everybody for a car either. But we seriously get the job done if you meet these following requirements: -Driver License or State ID ✅ (Texas only) -Min Income of $1,200 ✅ (after taxes & rent) -At least 3 months on your job ✅ (this is negotiable) -No Open Bankruptcy ⛔ (has to be close or discharged) -No Open Car Loans ⛔ (this is also negotiable depending on the situation) -No Job Letters / Cash Income ⛔ (unless you have bank statement showing cash deposits) Along with as little as $1,000 Down. $1,500 if you have a fresh repo. You only have $1,000 to put down? Let’s work out a deferment for you to come back with the rest later. We work with you Best of luck to you! John Kamal

  • Berenice was very friendly and helped me out with the cutest car ever! The finance manager explained everything in detail there was no ambiguity. I know the payment schedule and I am aware of the consequences. Also, the first three payments cannot be missed, they were very upfront. It is a buy here pay here and not a traditional car dealership- most people come here because they cannot go to a dealership, (credit issues) don’t have a large down payment or you don’t want to run credit and you want to be in house. Either way, I am thankful for John Kamal Cars. Also, thanks for your patience with my grandson - he LOVES the car more than me.😂

  • Worse experience ever. They are nice to get the sell but don’t care to much after. I bought a terrain and by time I made it home. The car had already started shaking and turned it off. Had to pay 1000 for a rebuilt engine picked up the vehicle and turned off as soon as I made it to where I was going, got it fixed and left with another check engine light. I paid monthly payments for a vehicle that left me on the side of the road multiple times with my kids and Wife in the car. I ended up getting a new car at a different dealership and was waiting for them to come repossess the car which I didn’t mind at all. I even washed it for them. My wife was with My one-year-old son when they did come for the vehicle she got in the vehicle because she didn’t want him to take the car with the baby seats and her purse when I told Jose this, he said that it sounded like she was the irresponsible one because she got in a vehicle that was on a lift already as if she is supposed to put a baby on the road while she goes in. When his repo man promise to let her grab her things she got out and sped off almost hitting them. Both my vehicle was unreliable, and the dealership was untrustworthy and I’m making this post not for a response from the dealership because I have a new and better vehicle and I know what happened. This is for those looking to get a vehicle from here. Don’t waste your time.

  • ***WARNING LONG POST***: I bought a 2018 Ford fusion from them on March 5, 2025. Because of the type of lot it is, I brought my own code reader and picked the car which I felt had the least issues. The code that came up was for the catalytic converter, I made them aware of it and they claimed that they had put one on the car because it didn't have one when they received it. I didn't take home the car until the following Saturday 3/9/25. A day later the check engine light came back on with the same code. This time they claim that it was the O2 sensors and they "replaced" them. I picked my car up a week later and the check engine light came on again with the same code. I decided to get it fixed on my own. Later on in March I was pulled over and given three citations (1. the temporary plate that I was given wasn't for the purchaser, it was for the buyer, 2. the tint was bad, and 3. the car wasn't registered to anyone) the citations equaled out to $850.00. I was told in the beginning that my car payment a month was $550.00, they put me on biweekly payments which I have never done with a car payment before, well May comes and they get their payments on the 2nd of May and the 16th of May. In June they began saying that I was one payment behind because the portal knew I had satisfied my monthly payment. What wasn't explained and I wouldn't have agreed to it was that in May and then in October they were expecting a third payment because there are 5 Friday's in the month. Fast forward to August, the car's AC had been out, and I went to get the codes ran and in a nutshell it was two pages long of codes, mainly that the car's computer wasn't communicating with major components of the car (the safety features, the AC, the power steering, etc.). Not to mention that in April I had to pay $800.00 to fix the timing belt system because the tensioner came off of the car, making the car stop moving and I was stuck in Carthage TX for 8 hours. I stopped paying the car note, I refused to pay them $60 dollars for a diagnostic. I had them tow the car to the lot for repairs and diagnostic (which they never did a full one). They of course had cut the car off (kill switch), luckily I knew they were going to so I kept the car running so I could get myself and my son home that day. So far all I know that they found out was that the sparks plugs needed to be replaced and a coil, the engine was leaking oil into the spark plugs. Today 9/24/25 they had the nerve to ask if I was interested in getting the car back. Luckily I was able to purchase a car from a better lot with monthly payments and a warranty. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE UNLESS YOU ARE A MECHANIC AND LIKES FIXING CARS.
