  • Rob is a great salesman! He provided prompt communication about the vehicle I was interested in and stayed past business hours when I was ready to purchase. I did notice the vehicle computer said the battery was low when I test drove and my husband asked if there were any known issues with the battery and we were told no. We ended up having to buy a new battery the day after purchasing but I love my new to me 2013 BMW 328i and will definitely check out United Auto if I am looking to buy again in the future!

  • DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PLACE Robe was the salesman who sold me this car. He is a cool guy, but apparently, he is not a mechanic and may not have been responsible for what happened. Since he dealt with me directly, I hold him responsible for the mess. The paperwork was easy, and he was also able to pick us up at Enterprise, which was great, but things took a turn for the worse later on. Here is my honest review of this dealership: I bought a Ford Edge for just over $11K (cash), including fees and taxes. He told me they won the car at an auction and that it was a great vehicle. After a week of driving, the engine light came on, and shortly after, the car died, and wasn't able to start. I assumed the battery might be dead. I removed the battery and took it to AutoZone, where they told me the battery was 80% good. The AutoZone employee suggested scanning the engine since the symptoms sounded like an engine issue. I bought an inexpensive engine scanner, scanned the engine, and found major problems. The Carfax showed no issues and a good service history. However, I discovered that the engine light and other warning codes were cleared on the day I picked up the car (October 29th, 2025; see attached picture). Apparently, someone scanned the engine twice that day, saw the mechanical issue codes, and decided to clear them. This means that code would not show up until later, but the memory of the scan and cleared codes were stored on the computer chip inside the car’s engine, which showed up when I scanned it. I had the car towed to an automotive care center in Suffolk and left a rather unfavorable but fair, in my view, review of this dealership. A few days later, they informed me the engine was bad and needed to be replaced. A used engine would cost $8K, with $5K required upfront to order it, which I declined. I towed the car back home. When I went to pick up my tags from Robe, he was upset and repeatedly said he didn’t know about the issues, despite assuring me over the phone that the car and engine were in good condition. However, the engine scanner doesn’t lie. He also stated that he didn’t know who erased the code, didn’t even know how to turn off engine codes, and that he wasn’t a mechanic. He promised to help by having a friend or someone look at the car but was angry that I left a bad review and accused him. I told him I would delete my review if he helped me fix the car. The frustrating thing is that he downplayed how terrible it is to buy a defective car — and worse, to be sold one by someone who knew the engine was defective. It has been over a week with no follow-up, so I assume he doesn’t care. While it would be illegal to sell a car with a known defective engine and could cost him his business if sued, I don’t plan to take legal action. Instead, I am leaving this review to warn others: don’t buy from this place. Always choose a reliable, large dealership - big dealership have mechanics and service places you can bring your car back in to service. Trust no one! Tips for buying a used vehicle: I recommend buying an engine scanner if you are looking for a used car. I used the FIXD scanner, which is compatible with any cellphone. Use a scanner to check the engine before purchase. Know what you are buying and why the price might be lower than usual — dealership salespeople often won’t tell you the full truth. Also, be skeptical of Carfax reports — they don’t always show everything. I wish I had bought an engine scanner earlier. The engine in this car was bad, and I believe Robe and others knew but sold it anyway. Finally, don’t leave a review shortly after buying your vehicle. I was asked that if I was satisfied to leave a review, which would be good for the company. Yes, I was excited, and I did leave a good review of the salesman and the dealership, but it didn’t take long for my favorable view of this dealership to evaporate! So, drive your car for a while before you write a review. And know that if you have mechanical issues, the chance of this dealership helping you is almost zero! They won't help you.
