  • Purchased a Jeep Compass on May 6th 2026...One month later while driving down the highway in rush traffic the rack and pinion went out...lost steering...fortunately made it safely to the side of the road...OUTCOME COULD HAVE BEEN SO MUCH WORSE!!...When I test drove it I asked if anything major was wrong with it that I should know of, and was told "No, we would not sell it if there was."...Well, there was...and they did!...My opinions are 1) I don't know who their mechanic is, but he CLEARLY should be fired if he can't see something that was so bad it went out with in 1 month!...2) Maybe the person making the decisions on what should be fixed on their dime could care less about the safety and LIFE of the person purchasing the vehicles as well as those driving on the roads with them, as long as a sale is made...Regardless someone SERIOUSLY dropped the ball!...my advice...DO NOT BELIEVE WHAT THEY TELL YOU!!..while on your little test drive, go DIRECTLY to get a full inspection (I just found out Tires Plus does it for about $10)..which is what I should have done...It could save your life!
