  Buyer Beware: Disappointing Experience with Bob Boast Volkswagen I purchased a brand-new 2026 VW Tiguan from Bob Boast in March 2026, and this has been one of the worst vehicle ownership experiences we’ve ever had. Within the first few months, the SOS button repeatedly lost its connection. We’ve brought the vehicle back approximately five times, and the issue still hasn’t been permanently resolved. When the SOS light is out, the vehicle’s app and remote-start feature also fail to work properly. In July, we noticed what sounded like a bathtub full of water sloshing around inside the liftgate. The dealership initially claimed they couldn’t hear or find anything wrong. After we recorded the noise and showed them the video, they witnessed water flooding out of the liftgate. We waited approximately three weeks through conflicting explanations about parts being ordered, arriving, not being needed, and the issue supposedly being fixed. My wife specifically asked whether the remaining water could cause future problems and was assured everything was fine. About a month later, a horrible damp, musty smell developed inside the vehicle, causing our family headaches and burning eyes. The dealership kept the car for another week, then blamed the cabin air filter and denied the smell was related to the original water leak from what we were told was a faulty factory seal. After this happened, we gave Bob Boast another chance, hoping that as a family-owned dealership, they would do the right thing. We offered to trade in the vehicle because the ongoing problems made it clear to us that something was seriously wrong and the car may already have suffered water damage. Unfortunately, we felt the dealership was more interested in making additional money from us than finding a fair solution. Throughout this process, their repeated response was that they “didn’t build the car,” which is an unprofessional excuse, not a solution. When the vehicle was returned, the smell was gone and the SOS issue appeared fixed again. Less than two weeks later, the liftgate was full of water AGAIN. During this latest visit, the SOS light was also not working AGAIN. We returned to the dealership and explained to the service manager that this is completely unacceptable. This is a brand-new vehicle with recurring water intrusion, concerns about potential mold, repeated SOS failures affecting the vehicle app and remote start, repeated service visits, and ongoing back-and-forth with Volkswagen. Instead of taking our concerns seriously, the dealership has made us feel like we’re a bother. We want out of this vehicle. We have lost confidence in both the car and the dealership. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Volkswagen or Bob Boast Volkswagen. We expected quality, accountability, and customer service—not an ongoing nightmare with a brand-new vehicle.
