You can now have the chance to own a piece of his collection. William Graber — Found-Object Assemblage Sculpture Artist: William “Bill” Graber Medium: Mixed media / found objects / welded and assembled metal / enamel paint Style: Postmodern assemblage, outsider art, found-object sculpture Date: 2007 Color: Monochromatic black Piece number: 323 William Graber’s sculpture has a Brutalist, mixed-media assemblage style. Its rough textures, industrial materials, dark monochromatic surface, and fragmented architectural forms give the work a raw and powerful presence.” William “Bill” Graber William “Bill” Graber was a largely self-taught, private artist from the Inland Empire who spent more than 40 years living and creating art in Upland, California. A member of the local Graber Olive family, Graber quietly produced hundreds of highly original sculptures and mixed-media assemblages, often incorporating found, discarded, and everyday objects. His work remained largely unknown to the public during his lifetime as he did not actively pursue galleries, exhibitions, or the commercial art world. After he left his Upland property, hundreds of his artworks were discovered there, along with documentation of the pieces. His work subsequently attracted the attention of collectors, galleries, and museums, including the Chaffey Community Museum of Art, which presented “William Graber: Outlier Artist of the Pomona Valley” in 2025. Today, Graber is recognized as an intriguing example of an outsider artist whose unconventional use of found materials and deeply personal approach resulted in a remarkable body of work.
