Description

The Story of Mary Mahoney's Old French House, on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi. Take a journey through time with one of the Mississippi Gulf Coast’s oldest, and most beloved families and owners of Mary Mahoney‘s old French House. Patriarch Bob Mahoney greets visitors to the restaurant with his signature charm and one-of-a-kind humor, serving up laughs, as well as the finest seafood on the coast. The restaurant, one of the Gulf Coast’s most cherished, has been a hub of dining activity for Biloxians since 1964. Viewers can also take a tour of the rambling house and out buildings, which dates to about 1737 when it was one of the first to rise along the Mississippi sound. Discover a rich and color for history through interviews with the Mahoney family. Made famous by the world-class cuisine, the restaurant gained international status as a place for seafood and was immortalized by writer John Grisham. Having survived two of the worlds worst hurricanes to strike the U.S., Camille in 1969 and Katrina in 2005, the Mahoney family remains committed to the community and to visitors from around the world. It is their goal to provide each person who walks through the courtyard with a fine dining experience, using old-world appeal and modern elegance to season their culinary creations.
