Description
Released in 2001, the Singer IZEK 1500 is an official Singer sewing machine powered by the Nintendo Game Boy Color. It uses a special Game Boy cartridge to let you program, select, and customize embroidery and stitch patterns directly through the console. How it WorksThe sewing machine plugs into the Game Boy Color via the standard link cable. Instead of having a complex digital display built into the body of the machine, it utilizes the, Game Boy as a graphical user interface.Using the included game cartridge (Raku x Raku Mishin in Japan, or the localized US software), users can browse and select designs like flowers or geometric shapes, write out lettering, and adjust the tension, stitch length, and speed of the machine. Origins and RarityThe machine was originally developed by the Japanese sewing company Jaguar as the JN-100. Singer partnered with them to release a near-exact replica in the United States as the Singer IZEK 1500. Today, it is considered a highly sought-after, rare collectible by both sewing enthusiasts and retro game collectors. Because of its rarity, secondhand units with the original Game Boy cartridge often sell for several hundred dollars. No box but will provide a machine carrier. Needs some TLC with connection port and the closure on the cord case on the side. Best offer in 12 hours. Pick up 11am tomorrow, in Hollywood Florida, May 30th.
