Vintage Wooden church organ pipe 36” long

An antique wooden pipe organ flute pipe (specifically a flue pipe). It is a component salvaged from a pipe organ. While often referred to colloquially as a "wood whistle" or "tuning pipe", it functions dynamically as a standalone flute when blown into directly through the round wooden foot at the bottom. Key Characteristics & Mechanics • Sound Production: Air enters through the narrow round stem (the foot), passes up through the throat, and escapes past the rectangular opening (the mouth or labium), striking the sharp upper lip to produce a clear, hollow tone. • The Note Designation: The handwritten pencil markings above the mouth usually denote the pitch (e.g., note or frequency) and the register number it belonged to in the original organ framework. • Collectibility: These are highly sought after by musicians, instrument collectors, and lovers of architectural salvage, frequently repurposed into unique home wall decor or hand-held folk whistles.
