🐉 Antique Blue & White Dragon Vase ~ Hand-Painted Asian Porcelain

This charming little vase belonged to my grandmother and has been in the family for decades. She loved Asian décor and had an incredible eye for pieces that felt both calming and full of life ~ this one was always one of her favorites. The blue and white dragon design is hand-painted, with soft brushstrokes that wrap gracefully around its gourd-like shape. It carries the traditional symbolism of the dragon ~ power, strength, and good fortune ~ and maybe comes from Jingdezhen, China, the world’s most famous porcelain region. My grandmother traveled the world many times over and always came back with treasures. My mom also told me she remembered in the 1940s going to a local store run by a man from Asia that sold special pieces so that’s possible as where she got it too. Artisans there have been perfecting blue-and-white pottery since the Ming and Qing dynasties, and this mid-20th-century version beautifully continues that legacy. It’s small, sturdy, and displays beautifully. There’s a small chip on the top (shown in photos), but otherwise it’s in lovely vintage condition. It works perfectly as a petite bud vase or a unique accent piece on a shelf or vanity.
