Vintage blue Schwinn California Cruiser with its distinctive, still-readable chainguard lettering. The California Cruiser name was offered for one year only—1976. Schwinn subsequently renamed the model Spitfire after discovering that the California Cruiser name was already trademarked by Recycled Cycles. This brief production period gives surviving examples added collector interest. The JM serial prefix dates the frame to September 1976, and headbadge code 3026 corresponds to October 28, 1976.
