Magnificent Mariposas; Vintage Curtis Jere Inspired Oxidized Brutalist Butterflies: For those who aren’t familiar with the Brutalist style, Brutalism is a style with an emphasis on materials, textures and construction, producing highly expressive forms derived from various metals, concrete, and other materials. It is often raw, unrefined, and primitive in design and style. This bevy of beautiful Brutalist Butterflies is a prime example of the style in miniature form. I do not know if these were a Curtis Jere creation since the signature is often hidden but they definitely resemble the work they put out. From largest to smallest, each butterfly is 6”, 5”, and 4” H and they are all about 5” in width. These do not have built in hangers but will hang with some small nails. Like I said, even though they are smallish, they truly embody the Brutalist style. My price for all three of these is $45 and when you consider that the price for one is usually $25-$30, you can have some classic vintage art on your walls rather than that chain store nonsense. In regards to holds, shipping, deliveries, trades, returns, or refunds it’s pretty much a no go. All items are sold as found and all sales are final.
