Monday-Friday we work really hard to process the package the same day that we get the order and get it to the USPS the same day. Our carrier picks up packages Monday - Saturday. However, our carrier is a rural carrier so he may be out late delivering past the time of the truck pickup from the Post Office. He may also not pickup in bad weather as nobody clears our road. Any day that he's out past 4pm then he does not scan the package until the following morning even though it's at the Post Office. Mondays or the day after a holiday this will always be the case also occasionally any extremly busy day for him may slow him down.
