Box of 10 - Nokia-FRX523 Frontier Communications (ONT) Optical Network Terminal

The FRX523 is a Nokia-manufactured Optical Network Terminal (ONT) used by Frontier Communications for high-speed XGS-PON fiber internet, converting fiber signals to Ethernet for your router, not providing Wi-Fi itself. Key features include multiple Ethernet ports (including 10Gb), telephone jacks, and its role as a bridge to your own Wi-Fi router, requiring separate power and configuration for wireless access. What it does: Fiber Conversion: Translates the optical signals from Frontier's fiber network into standard Ethernet signals. Ethernet Output: Provides high-speed Ethernet ports (including 10 Gigabit) to connect your router. Voice Service: Supports Frontier's phone services via its telephone line ports. What it doesn't do: Broadcast Wi-Fi: The FRX523 itself does not create a Wi-Fi network; you need a separate Wi-Fi router connected to its Ethernet port for wireless internet. Key things to know: Router Needed: You must connect a separate router (like an Eero, Orbi, etc.) to the FRX523's Ethernet port for Wi-Fi. Power: It requires an AC power adapter, which sometimes isn't included when sold used. Troubleshooting: A red light often means a loose Ethernet cable or power issue; check connections and restart. No Web Interface: You generally can't log into the FRX523 to manage settings; configuration happens on the router you connect to it.
