Description

This piece is a 19th-century Chinese Export leather-covered and brass-studded camphor wood chest, commonly made during the Qing Dynasty for trade with Western markets. These trunks were prized by travelers and military officers for their insect-repelling camphor wood interiors and durable exteriors. It does have wear and tear with a crack on the inside and the backside plating loose.
