Amazon Review: A Classic Time Capsule This DVD is a fantastic time machine back to 1981, to the peak of the performing career of EWF. All original Band, original mixing and song layout. However, i think theres something to be said about the less-than-perfect sound quality. I attribute that to the fact that the recording is so old. Other than that, it doesnt bother me that much. THe DVD is fantastic, and wildly entertaining, as EWF's elaborate and flamboyant 1980's costumes light up the stage almost as much as the energy of Phillip Bailey, Ralph Johnson, Maurice White and Verdine White. Ill recommend this DVD to anyone who wants to see EWF in their heyday, however if youre looking for truly dazzling musicianship, then probably stick to the later DVD's after they've hired Morris Pleasure as their musical director. Overall, I can't give this DVD any sort of bad review though, because what you're buying here is more of a "look into the glorious past".
