I found a nice VW Jetta online at FTL Auto Sales on a Tuesday and called Rick to discuss the vehicle and a possible purchase.
Based mostly on the good reviews, i put down a small down payment and flew down to FLL on Friday. The car was as the photos and Rick had described it. I bought two new tires down rhe street whole Rick finished the paperwork, and I was out of there in about three hours.
I drove back home 600 miles on a just purchased 13 year old used car on a trip that was pleasant and uneventful.
I've driven the Jetta for over a month ago and it's been a wonderful car.

There was no sticker shock when they presented the out-the-door price like I've experienced at chain dealerships that add over $5000 in various fees. Got a car from them. Five days later the engine light is on. I expected one or two minor things needed to get repaired. Got the whole speech about how they wouldn't sell a bad car because they want a good reputation and their mechanics inspect everything. I needed a purge valve. Then the car stopped again. Got an O2 sensor...and a new fuel pump since all that needed was a good bump and i would've had gas all over my car. Fuel pumps are supposed to last the life of a car. The other 2 things usually last 100k miles before replacement. And i just found out i need a charcoal canister, which should last over 100k miles. This car has 51k miles. The whole thing is rusted. Everytime they fixed something, something else was breaking and falling off. The mechanics, who I've been going to for years, said I got screwed. They showed me fully rusted parts that easily snapped in two. It's barely functioning and still needs work. Yes it's an older car, but it only had 51k miles, which isn't bad. My previous car, which a lady wrecked and why I had to get a new one, had over 175k miles and was 4 years older. I never had problems with that car like I do with this one. If you go, proceed with EXTREME caution.
