Description

An exceptional, statement-making pair of large vintage mid-century brass swan statues, dating back to the 1960s–1970s. Standing at an impressive 29.75" and 26.75" tall, these massive sculptures serve beautifully as floor art, hearth decor, or dramatic tabletop focal pieces for Hollywood Regency, Chinoiserie, or eclectic interiors. Each piece features incredible artisan sand-cast craftsmanship from India. The bodies are heavily hand-etched with intricate feather patterns and a stunning floral medallion motif on the chests. They are finished in a classic, traditional Meenakari style with rich, vibrant red and solid black enamel gradients that make the fine brass details pop. Measurements: * Curved Neck Swan: 29.75” Height | 9” Length (Chest to Tail) | 4.75” Base Width * Straight Neck Swan: 26.75” Height | 11.5” Length (Beak to Tail) | 4” Base Width Condition: Excellent vintage condition with a beautiful aged patina. The black and red enamel work is incredibly well-preserved and vibrant across both pieces. The structural integrity is flawless with no dents, bends, or repairs to the vulnerable necks or beaks. The undersides show the authentic, rough hollow-cast brass texture and natural dark oxidation expected of genuine 1960s Indian export brassware. Minor superficial surface wear on the base edges consistent with age and gentle handling. Please see all photos for complete details. Near Somerset but can meet up in the Medical Center or Alamo Heights mornings only. Check my other listings for more home decor and vintage items.
