You will use the provided stereo cable (which has RCA connectors on one end and a 3.5mm jack on the other) to connect the appropriate output from your device to one of the inputs on the TMR-RF985R transmitter. The transmitter then uses Radio Frequency (RF) technology to wirelessly send the audio signal to the MDR-RF985R headphones. So the base station plugs into your device and the headphones allow wireless roaming up to 150ft! This is much further than bluetooth's 30 feet. Condition Notes: Please be aware that the earphone pads and the padding on the headband are starting to flake due to age. However, the padding is still substantial and doesn't impact the comfort or functionality of the unit at all. It's purely a cosmetic issue. Also of note, the ear pads are just a cover and can be easily replaced if desired for $8-10 online.
