Description

Hi, I'm selling a Yamaha receiver - model number RX-V1800. It has seven channels of amplification rated at 130 watts per channel. Please note that to the best of my knowledge, this receiver is not "over rated" in terms of watts like many new receivers are today. This is a true 130 watts per channel. (Many manufacturers will claim power of 100 watts or more, but when you really break it down it may only be between 70 and 85 watts per channel.) If you have large tower speakers with large woofers, you'll need a lot of power to drive them properly and make them sound their best. This unit does come with a remote, but the battery cover on back is cracked and missing some pieces and held together by tape. (See photos for cracked area.) I have noticed that the "up/down" volume buttons have been starting to wear out a bit which means you need to push these buttons harder than usual to make them work. I believe the other buttons all work properly. I also wanted to mention that I am an audiophile, and I personally think many of the older Yamaha receivers sound better than many new ones on the market today. One other note - if you're looking for a receiver with a good strong amplifier, usually the heavier the unit - the stronger the amp. Many new receivers on the market today weigh between 15 - 25 pounds, and this receiver weighs in around 37 pounds. It retailed for around $1,299.00 when it first came out. Features: Dolby® True HD, DTS-HD™ Master Audio, Dolby® Digital Plus, DTS-HD™ High Resolution Audio, Dolby® Digital EX, DTS-ES™, Pro Logic® IIx, and DTS Neo:6 decoding I would be happy to let you listen to music or movies on a 5.1 surround sound system before you buy. You may find this unit used for less money, but I don't know if you'll find one in this good of condition (except for the remote) and this clean - I think you'll be pleased. (Cash only and all sales are final, thanks.) I live in Placentia. Thanks for your interest!
