1980 Peugeot 102SP U3 for restoration or parts

Doesn’t currently run. Has no spark. Internet says these mopeds ran the ignition through the rear tail light bulb in such a way that a blown bulb can kill the spark, and says this can be easily bypassed by crossing a couple wires. I haven’t investigated or experimented further. Other than that, some of the wire control cables need replaced, the tires are old and beginning to dry rot but still usable. The seat vinyl is shot but foam not damaged. The decomposition valve needs work. Engine Is 2 stroke and not seized, but need the decompression valve needs to seal to roll the rear wheel in order to turn over the engine, to be able to accurately test the cylinder compression pressure. It does have all the plastic trim present and in tact, and the gas tank holds pressure and isn’t too bad on the inside as far as rust. Shares parts interchange compatibility with many 103SP parts and parts from Motobecane brand mopeds of similar production date. Definitely has potential as a moderately easy, wallet friendly restoration project. Or a great parts donor for a different bikes restoration. More pics shortly. Price is OBO.
