Description

Up for sale is a rare, vintage Sony WA-6000 7-Band Radio Cassette-Corder. Released in 1985, this highly collectible, portable unit features AM, FM, and 5 shortwave bands (SW1–SW5). This unit is being sold FOR PARTS OR REPAIR due to the cassette deck malfunction. Please read the specific testing results below before bidding or purchasing. Cosmetic Condition: • Body: Good vintage condition with some expected signs of light age and use. (Please review all high-resolution photos to judge the condition for yourself). • Battery Compartment: There is a small amount of corrosion present inside the battery compartment. The metal contacts are still intact, and the unit was able to be powered on for testing. • Antenna: The telescopic antenna is fully intact and pulls out cleanly. Functional Testing Results: • Radio: TESTED & WORKING. Tuned into local AM and FM stations with clear audio through the speaker. Shortwave bands are responsive. • Cassette Tape Deck: NOT WORKING. The cassette player does not play or spin tapes. It likely needs a new drive belt kit or mechanical service due to age.
