Description

The Greer MG-586 (MicroGuard586) is an electronic crane monitoring system, specifically a Rated Capacity Indicator(RCI), used with Terex, Broaderson, Elliott and other boom trucks and carry deck cranes. It is designed to help operators stay within safe lifting limits by displaying load weight, radius, angle, and percentage of capacity, and also incorporates digital alarms and automatic function shutdown. The Greer MG-586 includes fast setup with FASTCAL tech, and core components like a computer and display console. It provides essential data and alerts for safe operations, though it's an aid, not a replacement for a trained operators. The overlay / membrane switch on the externally mounted display is designed to be replaced as it is prone to failure after years of being exposed to the elements. Replacement is simple and quick. If the display has power and the readout (numbers) are working, most "bugs" and intermittent failures are due to the buttons in the membrane switch failing after time. If your crane is having trouble switching between functions ie: boom length, radius, boom angle or you are unable to control the display contrast, change the setup code, mute the A2B or silence the alarm and override the function kickout, or it's just generally "acting up", it is usually due to membrane button failure. These upgraded overlays feature some noteworthy improvements. The material is highly U.V. resistant. The icons are easier to read and interpret. The buttons have more tactile feedback it easier to "feel" while wearing gloves. And most importantly, the most frequently used buttons have been moved to the top of the display to shield them from the weather using the protection of the display mount, providing increased longevity. They are proudly designed, tested and manufactured in the U,S.A. This overlay is an obsolete part from Greer. Now you are forced to buy the entire display, if you can even source one, to fix the problems caused by a simple membrane switch . These are all new stock and ready for immediate installation. We have sold close to one hundred of these updated switches and have a long list of happy customers to show for it.
