Description
Up for sale is a beautiful, authentic vintage 1960s Duke Kahanamoku soprano ukulele. Duke Kahanamoku was a legendary Hawaiian Olympic swimmer, movie star, and the "Father of Modern Surfing." These instruments were highly popular mid-century Hawaiian souvenirs and are now wonderful collector's items. Condition Details: • Graphics: The iconic "Duke Kahanamoku" script decal on the front body is exceptionally clean, vibrant, and fully intact with almost no wear. • Headstock: Features the original royal Hawaiian crest decal with the word "ALOHA" printed clearly between the string posts. • Hardware: Outfitted with its original white plastic friction tuning pegs on the back, complete with original mounting screws showing a nice vintage patina. • Body & Neck: The mahogany wood body is structurally sound. There are some minor cosmetic surface scuffs and edge wear on the bottom right bout consistent with its age, but there are no major cracks or structural splits. Straight neck and solid bridge. Great piece of Hawaiian history for a collector, musician, or surfing enthusiast! Price: $100 Local meetup in Queen Creek. Cash only. No trades.
