Bose companion 2 series II, silver, with Headphone Jack, dual Inputs Design and Build Quality The Bose Companion 2 Series II speakers feature a sleek metallic silver finish and a clean, understated design that fits well in any workspace. The right speaker includes a volume control knob and a headphone jack for easy access, while the left speaker connects via a minijack cable. They are lightweight, with the right speaker weighing 1.8 pounds and the left at 2.3 pounds, giving a perception of quality without being overly heavy. Sound Quality In terms of audio performance, the Companion 2 Series II delivers respectable bass for a 2.0 desktop speaker system. However, some users note that the sound quality may not be as impressive as other speakers in the same price class. The speakers utilize a single 2.5-inch full-range driver, which means there is no separate tweeter for higher frequencies, potentially leading to a less dynamic sound profile compared to competitors. Features Dual Inputs: The speakers come with dual stereo inputs, allowing you to connect multiple audio sources simultaneously. This feature is convenient for users who want to listen to notifications from their PC while enjoying music from another device. Connectivity: The system includes a minijack-to-RCA cable for connecting to a PC and standard stereo cables for other audio sources. However, it lacks USB and Bluetooth connectivity, which may be a drawback for some users. User Experience Users appreciate the simplicity and ease of use of the Companion 2 Series II speakers. They are described as "workhorse products" that provide a straightforward audio solution without the need for complex setups. Many users find them suitable for various audio needs, from casual listening to more focused tasks like watching movies or playing games.
