Do you have some vintage speakers that are stuck in a closet because the foam rings(surrounds) are deteriorating and you’re afraid to play them like that? Or maybe they make a rattling noise when playing. Some think that means they are blown, but that’s not necessarily so. Usually all that need to happen is to clean up and remove the deteriorating surrounds and replace with the proper new foam or butyl rubber surrounds. Once that is done. They will be good for another 20+ years. I have replaced several hundred surrounds with not one single problem or complaint from the owners. Contact me with your speaker model and I will check on availability and price of the materials. I do this more as a hobby than a business, so I don’t charge a large labor price.
