Instead it has an HDMI port. To connect such a laptop / desktop / Mac / Surface with such a monitor / TV, you need this adapter and an HDMI cable ( HDMI cable also available ). Plug this adapter into mini DP / Thunderbolt port on your system and this adapter will give you HDMI port. Use an HDMI cable to connect one side onto this adapter and other side to the monitor / TV. Tested and works fine.
