Description

Matched set of three antique pharmaceutical bottles, all manufactured by Merck & Co., Inc., Rahway, N.J. — a classic American chemical manufacturing site. Found together as a set. All three retain original labels, caps, and sealed contents. 1. Procaine Hydrochloride, U.S.P. — 1 oz, No. 30-80 Mesh 2. Sparteine Sulfate, N.F. Powder — 1/8 oz, Cat. No. .62271, Lot No. 40800, Mol. Wt. 422.37 3. Physostigmine (Eserine) Sulfate — Cat. No. .5703, conforms to U.S.P. specifications, handwritten lot/date notation on label All three bottles carry original "POISON" caution labels and "to be used only by or on the prescription of a physician" text — classic mid-20th century pharmaceutical caution formatting. Labels are legible and largely intact with light wear/age spotting consistent with age. Caps and closures are original. SOLD AS SEALED ANTIQUE COLLECTOR'S ITEMS / DISPLAY ONLY. Contents are original but have not been tested, verified, or handled — bottles are NOT to be opened and are not for consumption or use of any kind. Buyer is purchasing the bottles, labels, and closures as a historical pharmacy collectible, not the substances themselves. Great addition for apothecary, pharmacy history, or scientific instrument collections. Shipped carefully packed to protect original labels and caps.
