Original Vintage WWII Swiss Army Leather Double Ammunition Pouch Dated 1944

These pouches were designed to mount on a Swiss military web/leather belt system to carry stripper clips or boxes of 7.5x55mm Swiss ammunition for the Schmidt-Rubin. It’s made of heavy-duty, vegetable-tanned thick brown leather with strong hand-stitched borders. It features the maker's stamp (e.g., saddler / Sattler workshop mark), a two-digit production year, 44, and the iconic Swiss cross-in-shield military acceptance stamp. Based on the stamping, the town or city name printed just below the word "SATTLER" is GRINDELWALD. The full inscription reads: 1. M. ESCHIMANN (The name of the individual saddler) 2. SATTLER (German for "Saddler", confirming their trade) 3. GRINDELWALD (The Swiss mountain village in the Bernese Alps where the workshop was located) It is in good vintage condition The leather is dark, deeply oiled, and robust with strong stitching. The stitching on the middle strap on the back has come away from the holder. The closure straps on the other side are fully intact and pliable without dry rotting or cracking.
