Description
Pick up north of DuPont between Coldwater and Auburn roads. Beautiful matching pair of authentic 1971 mid-century modern armchairs in remarkably nice original condition. These are substantial, extremely well-built American contract-quality chairs featuring sculpted hardwood frames, padded arms, wraparound upholstered backs and coil-spring seat construction. The original vinyl upholstery is a soft warm yellow/tan identified on the surviving factory paperwork as “Camel Tan.” The vinyl is exceptionally well preserved for its age and gives the chairs a great period-correct early-1970s look. One chair retains its original factory production and inspection paperwork underneath, documenting the chairs to 1971, including a June 2, 1971 inspection date. These came from a church and appear to have seen remarkably light use over their approximately 55-year life. Both chairs are in excellent vintage condition, with beautiful original vinyl upholstery and very nice wood frames. The sculptural woodwork and compact proportions give them a great mid-century executive, library, office or reception-chair look while still working beautifully as accent chairs in a home. Approximate measurements per chair: 25” wide 23” deep 31” tall Matching pair sold together. Will deliver for additional fee.
