Vintage 1964 Selmer Mark VI Tenor Saxophone

Letting go of my '64 mark vi tenor, which served me very well! This is a wonderful American engraved mark vi from the year before Coltrane's. It's in gorgeous player's condition, retaining the bulk of its original honey gold lacquer except in the usual player-side spots. It plays with a mix of sweetness and focus throughout the range that I'm particularly fond of - not too spread, but certainly not small or dark sounding either, just very sophisticated and voicelike. At some point, the neck receiver area suffered some sort of trauma but was expertly repaired and even relacquered in a remarkably similar hue to the rest of the horn. Besides that, there are three medium size dents in the bow but very little else in the way of damage to report. Pads are all fairly new and it plays like a dream. Only letting this one go because I have another tenor that gets played much more. Comes in a 50s-era Selmer Chesterfield case in great condition.
