This is an authentic antique oak commode chair, dating from approximately 1890–1930. These chairs were used before indoor plumbing became common and were designed to look like regular wooden armchairs while discreetly housing a chamber pot beneath the seat. Features: Solid red oak construction with a dark antique stain Lift-up hinged seat revealing the interior chamber compartment Comes with a vintage white enamel chamber pot with red rim (fits properly and appears period-correct) Turned front legs and shaped arms typical of the early 20th century Original rustic patina and wear consistent with age Beautiful piece for collectors, historic décor, restoration projects, or repurposing This item shows normal age-related wear, including finish loss, scratches, and minor wood discoloration.
