Antique Carpenter’s Workbench

For sale is my great grandfather’s woodworking bench. He made it in Altmunster, Austria upon retiring as a police officer in the 1890’s and has beautiful dovetail joinery. It was brought over by my grandfather in the 1950’s and I’ve had it for over twenty years. I believe the top is beech and the legs might be spruce or pine. The top measures 4 ⅛” thick, 70 ¾” long by 25 ⅝” wide. Overall the bench (when measuring the vises) is 78” x 39 ½” x 33” tall. Included is an additional metal working vice that was custom fit to the bench. And there are two built in vises, one with a wooden screw. Both work well and there are two bench dogs included. I am selling this as I am moving into a much smaller home. Please feel free to stop by and have a look. The legs and drawer can be removed for transport. I’m located in NE Portland’s Concordia neighborhood a few blocks from McMenamin’s Kennedy School. $3500
