2005 Chrysler 300c

Just got this back from dealer service with a brand new OEM gas tank, a $2k job for the tank and labor, $1k each, but thankfully done under lifetime tank warranty (see last photo). This car isn’t just well maintained, it’s a long way toward full restoration. This 300c gives you the best odds of a lot of trouble free miles. With my work on this car I focused on the items that would make it drive like when new and have long life for all major systems, striving for “restoration to new” rather than just “maintenance” and “repair” work. I think this list of what I have had done is also a good reference checklist for any 2005 to 2010 300c you are considering purchasing, (most important of all is the full front suspension with all new parts, like 40 pieces of struts and bars and things), knowing what I do and that you will have to do much of this work soon at a high cost if this work has been delayed as it has on most of these others I see for sale: ✔️ this specimen is mostly restored - it is a screaming deal to anyone who understands cars. New suspension, new rear shocks, brakes done, Michelin rear tires at about 80% to 90% tread, brand new gas tank / fuel float regulation system, well cared for engine and transmission, interior and dash and cosmetics are all good, no rips. To complete the restoration I would say new front seat fitted covers on the seat itself, as those do have some creasing, new front carpets, and refinish the paint on the roof and trunk and then buff it to perfection, give it a good few hundred dollar ceramic coating to lock that in, and this 300c will appear to be nearly new inside and out for years to come. ✔️ the front suspension was replaced with all-new parts at 127k miles by highly rated Whittier garage. This costly job is why you see so many 300c’s for sale around 100k to 150k miles, as it usually costs $1,500 to $2,000 to do this job right. Dave’s Goodyear quoted me $2,000 for a front suspension job with all new parts. Now that is done it drives tight and crisp like when new and should be good on this front for another 100,000 miles. I would not buy any higher mileage 300c without the full suspension having been done, or a major discount so that I would have the funds left to do it. ✔️ new rear shocks and brake job by Whittier garage 3,000 miles ago ✔️ synthetically lubed 5.7 liter V8 engine is strong. Fresh Valvoline synthetic oil change Sept 10 ✔️ only this version has e series Mercedes transmission, one of the best ever made, as well as side airbags, years ahead of most cars. Yes the side airbags are stamped into the side pillar plastic and on the window sticker, it has the side airbags. ✔️transmission was flushed to remove debris at 100k miles, as experts strongly recommend but few do. This transmission can last hundreds of thousands of miles if and when well maintained, and this has been. Transmission is strong and shifts smoothly ✔️ Even a new gas tank installed under a lifetime warranty for that part, another $2k job done toward restoration ✔️ 80% to 90% tread on the front Michelin tires ✔️ AC just serviced, fully recharged and blows cold ✔️ Fresh alignment service just done Sept 25 or so ✔️ new engine air filter & new evap filter ✔️ interior is nice & clean ✔️ just 6,000 miles per year ✔️ passed smog a few months ago in 5 minutes ✔️ never used for tow One owner company car, regular service, engine and transmission are strong, and the ride is smooth. • Compare this list of work done to any other you are considering to get a real comparison. A well maintained car provides a huge long term savings for the buyer, and I can’t see any other with this much work out there, so most of those will likely need a lot of service very soon. • My mechanic at Whittier Garage, top drawer, told me that the car is now in excellent mechanical condition with nothing major left to do at this time, making this a rare find • Absolutely everything works perfectly—AC, heat, brakes, sunroof, power windows, heated/power seats, radio, and mirrors. The key points in this car are: Ultra-clean, exceptionally maintained Chrysler 300C in near-restoration condition. The vehicle has had close to $5,000 of restoration work done in the last few thousand miles. Please note the following before messaging: I already have had several offers at $4,200 to $4,500 who couldn’t wait for service to be finished, and while I might accept one of those I would like a little more, at or above asking which is already so low for this quality of car, so any offers below this will not receive a response except to encourage the sender to read the post or ‘no thanks.’ I think this car is at bottom of the arc on valuation, and will increase in value from here on as well maintained specimens become more rare, if you keep up the maintenance. Highest tentative offers will be given first priority to view the car which is finally back in my hands. It’s an incredible deal at $5k, I’m not excited about going lower.
