Vintage African Ghana Sculpture Mother w/ Baby Bowl Bearer

Exceptional vintage, hand-carved, Ghanaian wooden sculpture. Masterfully hand-sculpted from a single solid block of dense native hardwood, this expressive piece beautifully captures a traditional Ghanaian mother working over a grinding vessel or food mortar while safely carrying her baby wrapped on her back. Hailing from Ghana's rich lineage of master wood carvers, this statue beautifully balances stylized West African features, elegant posture, and a rich, hand-polished dark patina that brings out the striking organic undertones of the natural wood grain. It serves as a beautiful tribute to motherhood and a powerful statement piece.
