Circa 1978–1979.This is the legendary gear-driven era—built with rugged internal metal gears, NOT cheap rubber belts that dry-rot, slip, or snap under load. It powers through thick meats and dense cheeses without slowing down.Operation: Slides incredibly smooth and operates perfectly by hand as a manual slicer.Note: The frame is a 1712 automatic model, but the small automatic engagement lever underneath the carriage arm is missing. It is priced and sold as a manual machine.Blades & Adjustments: 12" stainless steel blade is sharp. Gauge plate adjusts precisely from paper-thin up to 1.25 inches.Cosmetics: Main external data plate is missing, but the serial number is verified.
