Perfect for a small school or church, this substantial metal bell would also make a distinctive addition to a garden, courtyard, or country home. Sold to me as a school bell, it weighs 15.5 pounds and comes with its yoke and two pillow-block mounting bearings. I purchased it for a small church that ultimately did not need it. It would make an appealing restoration project or decorative feature. Included: • Bell and yoke • New Dodge Babbitt split pillow-block bearing • Climax Clesco bronze-bushing pillow block that appears unused • Both bearings have 5/8-inch bores Approximate measurements: • 10 inches across at the waist • 5.5 inches from bottom rim to crown • 7 inches from bottom rim to top of yoke The yoke’s ringing arm—the lever used to swing the bell with a rope—is missing and will need to be purchased or fabricated. The bell appears to be cast iron, although brass-colored material is visible inside four small holes. Its exact metal composition is unverified. Sold in its current condition; no sandblasting or powder coating has been done. Photos show the actual bell and bearings.
