Description

This is called the bc-250 ASROCK mining board. It features PlayStation 5 computer hardware architecture in one single slot. These are actually very capable gaming PCs featuring the gddr6 vram 16G. You get 6 PlayStation cores instead of 8, like a standard PlayStation 5, so 6 cores and 12 threads. It has display port only, so if you have HDMI, you will need an adapter. It features one nvme storage slot, so, no SATA. If you have hdd you'll need to hook up via USB. No sound port, sound is only possible via display port or USB sound device like headset or audio jack or controller jack. The cooling grill has been modified to fit a 120 mm fan. This process is not easy and took me hours to carefully pry and snip various sections in a professional way to allow maximum airflow. The original design won't allow this because the grill was actually designed to be in a rack with a jet of air shooting through. The grill fins had to be carefully cut and opened to allow actual airflow. The BIOS has been modified so you can experiment with vram allocation. The original BIOS wouldn't allow this and was hard locked to 8vram and 8ram. I installed a BIOS that lets you change this to your liking, with settings ranging from 256mb to 12gb. The magic setting for me is the 512 setting. With the 512 setting, bazzite allocated vram dynamically, which is ideal. But you can set it however you want. It comes with a high-powered Corsair high pressure fan. The cooling fan sits directly in the center of the grill. This is where the cutout is and it's a perfect fit. Airflow is directed downwards and exhausts out both sides for maximum heat exchange. What you get: The bc-250 board XPG 512GB NVME STORAGE S40G W/ RGB LIGHTING ONE BLUE LED HIGH-POWERED CORSAIR 120MM FAN What you may need: A display Peripherals like mouse keyboard or controller A standard power supply unit that has 1 pcie 8pin A sound source if not getting sound through TV (I was using USB audio jack and a large speaker setup) Ethernet because there's no wifi or Bluetooth. I was able to get Internet a few different ways like Ethernet cable, USB wifi adapter, plugging in a phone hotspot, piggy back Ethernet cable off of a laptop hooked through wifi etc. Conclusion: This is a very fun and unique way to game. This thing is only powered by one pcie 8pin, that's it! I tried bazzite on here and that's the best. Windows 11 works but there's no working AMD drivers to get hardware acceleration so you'll need a Linux distro. Linux is plug and play with native AMD drivers. The gaming performance is incredible and on par with PlayStation.
