4-SUSAN B. ATHONY DOLLAR COINS

This item is a 1979 Susan B. Anthony dollar coin, which was the first U.S. circulating coin to feature a real woman.  Design: The obverse depicts suffragist Susan B. Anthony, and the reverse features an eagle landing on the moon, adapted from the Apollo 11 insignia.  Specifications: It is composed of a cupro-nickel clad over a copper core, weighs \(8.1\) grams, and has a diameter of \(26.5\) mm.  Varieties: Philadelphia minted coins ("P" mint mark) in 1979 include a "wide rim" or "near date" variety, which is more desirable to collectors than the "narrow rim" or "far date" variety.  Value: While common, high-grade uncirculated examples, specifically the 1979-P wide rim variety, can sell for more than their face value.
