2005 Honda Civic

2005 Honda Civic DX/VP Automatic, 1.7L, 4 cyl 223k miles It gets you from point A to point B, and it is a Honda, so there is potentially a lot of life left in this one. THE BIG UGLY: Recently discovered a head gasket issue through a combustion leak test. Been adding about a quart of oil each week. There has been overheating issues, but it was noticeably worse in the hot summer season. There hasn't been any overheating since the weather has cooled a little, which is right around the same time I replaced the throttle position sensor, cleaned the throttle body, and purged the cooling system. When the engine heat was climbing, the most sure fail-safe to bring the engine temp back to normal was to turn the heat on full blast in the cabin of the car. And the AC does blow cool air, but it does make a lot more noise under the hood while running AC, particularly while parked or stuck in traffic. Obviously advisable to keep driving as minimal as possible until head gasket is replaced. THE LITTLE UGLIES: Water does leak into the cabin when parked in the rain. It will puddle up a bit on the front driver's side floor. Seems very likely that is from a clogged coil drain. Should be easily remedied with 30-40 minutes and access to an air compressor/blower. There is also a leak happening on the upper driver's side door. That's been leaking, and will get driver's seat a little damp ever since a locksmith got into the vehicle by basically prying door open with air compression bag. I'm sure someone with auto body experience can advise how to fix that issue. Bottom line, if you don't want water in the cabin, put car cover on when parked in the rain until those issues are resolved. The interior upholstery is coming off the doors, much worse on that driver's side. Upholstery is in good enough condition to put back on with popping off the door panels. I have a good-fitting cover that comes with the vehicle. And the car is kicking out the following codes: P0113 - IAT (Intake Air Temperature) Sensor P0134. - Upstream Oxygen Sensor P0511 - Idle Air Control Circuit Clean Title/ No Salvage Asking $2500 obo
