1948 Ford Coupe

OBO The car was purchased from a gentleman in Freemont CA in 2004. He stated that it was a barn find and had been stored for years. The speedometer is correct and still working. the car body is excellent with no sign of any body repair being done. In order to paint the car everything that could be removed (fenders, hood, trunk, and doors) were removed and painted individually. New welting was used between all the parts. The car was painted with PPG Glade #40457 that was used by Ford for the 1948 model. No rust on the car body. The upholstery was redone with LaBaron/Boney design and color for the 1948 period. (prior to them going out of business) The fuel system has been changed to replace the old mechanical pump with a new electric one that has a feedback line going from the carburetor to the fuel tank to preclude the old problem of Ford vapor lock. The outside trim is the original stainless steel. Electrical system is the old ford 6-volt system. The engine is the original Ford V8 Flathead. All break cylinders are new, and drums have been turned down.
