Description

Vintage Singer Featherweight Model 221-1, serial number AH054024. Serial records place this machine in Singer’s production batch allocated April 22, 1947. Beautiful early AH-series Featherweight with the ornate gold detailing and classic black finish. This one comes with its vintage carrying case, original Singer 221-1 instruction manual, foot controller/power cord, Singer attachments and a boxed Singer Buttonhole Attachment with its instruction/parts booklet. Included: Singer Featherweight 221-1 sewing machine; vintage carrying case; foot controller and power cord; original 221-1 instruction manual; Singer Buttonhole Attachment with original box and instruction/parts booklet; Singer sewing attachments/accessories and small tool shown in photos. Tested condition: Machine powers on and runs well. Foot controller operates properly, motor runs smoothly, handwheel turns freely, and needle mechanism moves smoothly with no unusual noises or binding. Built-in work light works and has a beautiful warm vintage glow. Machine has not been stitch-tested, as I don’t currently have sewing thread. Cosmetic condition: Good original vintage condition with significant signs of its approximately 79 years of use. The machine retains its black finish and ornate gold detailing, but does have scratches, finish/paint loss, worn areas, patina, dust/grime and other age-related cosmetic wear. The case, manuals, accessory packaging and attachments also show age and storage wear. I have intentionally not refinished or aggressively cleaned the machine, so the original finish, decals and character remain intact. Please review photos carefully for exact cosmetic condition. Serial-number photo included. Selling the complete group together as pictured.
