Mid-century vintage hand-crank spice mill manufactured by the West German brand Zassenhaus. While it looks like a traditional pepper mill, the central brass engraving with "Kümmel" (the German word for caraway). German mills from this era were calibrated to match specific spices, making this a more collectible piece compared to standard pepper grinders. Dark-stained lathe-turned wood with metal hardware. Classic vintage cottagecore / farmhouse kitchen aesthetic. Great vintage condition with a gorgeous natural patina. Very clean. Crank turns smoothly. Could be a functional kitchen tool for freshly crushed caraway seeds, or as a distinct display piece for collectors of antique kitchenware.
