Montessori 45 Layout

The Montessori 45 layout, also known as the "Bird's Eye View," is a math activity for children that visually represents the decimal system using golden beads and number cards. Children arrange large number cards (\(1-9\), \(10-90\), \(100-900\), and \(1000-9000\)) with their corresponding quantities of golden units, tens, hundreds, and thousands to learn place value and the correspondence between symbols and quantities. This floor-based activity helps build concentration, coordination, and a concrete understanding of mathematical order.   Components and layout Materials: The layout uses 45 of each of the following materials: golden unit beads, golden ten bars, hundred squares, and thousand cubes, along with a set of wooden numerals from \(1-9000\). Arrangement: The activity is laid out on the floor to provide enough space. The numerals \(1-9\) are placed on the right side, each with its corresponding golden unit beads. Next, the numerals \(10-90\) are placed, each paired with the correct number of ten bars. The numerals \(100-900\) are arranged with their corresponding hundred squares. Finally, the numerals \(1000-9000\) are placed next to their thousand cubes.  .
