1950s Vintage Tonka State Hi-Way Dept. No. 980 Hydraulic Dump Truck – Original

Vintage Tonka State Hi-Way Dept. No. 980 Hydraulic Dump Truck, dating to the mid-1950s, circa 1956. A great example of the heavy pressed-steel Tonka construction toys produced during the classic 1950s era. This large, substantial Tonka features the distinctive Omaha orange finish, original “State Hi-Way Dept. 980” door decal, embossed “HYDRAULIC DUMP” lettering on the dump bed, steel construction, original-style wheels and tires, and the classic 1950s Tonka cab design. The truck has honest age and play wear, including scratches and areas of paint loss consistent with its age. It has not been restored or repainted, making it an attractive original vintage survivor with wonderful period patina. The hydraulic dump mechanism is present.
