Description

This is Because It's Christmas, the first Christmas album by Barry Manilow, on CD. Released in 1990, it was the best-selling Christmas album of that year in the United States, and it was Manilow's first platinum album since 1980. The version of "Jingle Bells" on the album is a cover of the 1943 recording by Bing Crosby and The Andrews Sisters with the girl group Exposé taking the Andrews Sisters' part. Fun fact: I was actually an extra in the music video for "Jingle Bells" with Manilow and Exposé. Anyway... This album also finally included his perennial favorite New Years Eve song "It's Just Another New Years Eve", and there's a really charming version of "Baby It's Cold Outside" with the late, great K.T. Oslin. What I'm saying is it's a great album (and I'm not even a big fan of Christmas albums). Disc is in good condition and plays fine. The case does have an issue: There are a couple of broken teeth on the "hub" inside it (that's the little round piece in the center that holds the disc in place), so the disc will stay in place while the case is closed, but when you open it you should hold it flat to keep it from falling right out.
