Description

Arts & Crafts Movement, circa early 20th century Quarter-sawn oak liquor cabinet attributed to the Shop of the Crafters, a notable Arts & Crafts workshop associated with early American Craftsman furniture. The cabinet displays classic Arts & Crafts construction and design elements, including pronounced vertical grain, restrained geometric detailing, and solid joinery consistent with period craftsmanship. The form features paneled doors opening to a fitted interior originally intended for the storage of spirits, with lower storage compartments. Original hardware and finish appear consistent with age. The cabinet retains a warm, naturally aged patina throughout. Condition is good overall, with expected age-appropriate wear. There is a visible scratch to the top surface, consistent with normal use and not structurally affecting the piece. No major restorations observed. Liquor cabinets from this workshop are comparatively scarce, as many examples were lost or altered during Prohibition. This piece represents a strong example of early 20th-century American Arts & Crafts furniture. Missing lock and a chip inside on one of the glass holders but both are easy repairs.
