I attempted to reach out to the General Manger on 12/8 per the response from AutoNation to this review. I was told he was busy and would give me a call back; it's been one week and I've received zero follow-up. My point stands, there is no accountability from top to bottom at this dealership.

Great buying experience, terrible follow-up.

The initial car-buying process at AutoNation was fantastic—excellent service, fair pricing, and I left feeling great about my purchase. Unfortunately, everything fell apart the moment I drove off the lot.

I bought my vehicle on 9/19. The next day, I emailed my sales rep, Sam, about a missing hubcap. On 9/29, I followed up and reported that the car had been pulling to the left since purchase. What happened next? Silence. Despite 14 emails, 3 texts, 4 phone calls, and even speaking with his manager, Kiernan, I didn’t get a response until 10/24—over a month later. It took two months just to schedule an appointment for 11/20.

At the appointment, they said the car needed an alignment but refused to cover it because it was sold “as-is.” Even though the issue started immediately after purchase, Kiernan offered only $40 off a $190 alignment. I paid, the problem wasn’t fixed, and I still never received the missing hubcap.

Bottom line: If you buy a used car here without a warranty, pray nothing goes wrong—because AutoNation will leave you hanging.

Great sales experience, but zero accountability after the sale.

My experience with AutoNation Toyota in Libertyville is unfortunately mixed.  The sales rep was wonderful, no complaints at all.  The problems began with our finance rep, who guaranteed that my 13k, post dated check would be held until my insurance pay out hit my bank account. I left the dealership with my car on Friday and by Saturday afternoon my bank account was seriously in the red because the finance rep made a "mistake" and the check was cashed.  Since it was a weekend, there was nothing anyone could do.  As the weekend progressed I had several auto pays that went through, and then bounced right back. To his credit, the finance rep apologized and owned the mistake, but that didn't remove the NSF fees I had coming or the stress of having such a significant deficit in my personal checking account. The finance rep called me on Monday and I expressed how unhappy I was with the situation and the financial and emotional stress this caused. I requested to talk to a general manager for compensation like a couple car washes or oil changes.  Something little to make up for my situation that was a result of the dealerships mistake. I was assured that the general manager would call me on Thursday to address this.  No phone call Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. If you decide to purchase a car from this dealership, my suggestion would be to prepare for less than adequate customer service.

I recently bought a 2022 Toyota Sienna from AutoNation Toyota Libertyville, and the experience was fantastic thanks to Michael Maya. From the moment I walked in, Michael was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. He made the whole process smooth, answered all my questions with patience, and never made me feel pressured. I truly appreciated his honesty and clear communication. I highly recommend Michael and this dealership to anyone looking for a stress-free car-buying experience.

Bought a new Rav 4 from Libertyville Toyota.  I dealt with Samuel in sales and he was great to work with on my purchase.  He was very knowledgeable and never pushy or pressuring during the whole process.  Very polite and helpful.  He even sat and showed me how everything worked in my new car after I completed the purchase.  Would definitely recommend dealing with him on your next purchase.

Usually i am not the type of person to write a review but this really annoyed me. I bought two vehicles from here. A challenger and a jeep. BOTH were used cars which isn’t a problem. i got my jeep about a year ago and never came across of removing my wheels until now i decided to do brake work. I couldn’t  remove the wheels due to having wheel locks. I was never given a key. came in and was respectful and asked for help to remove the wheel locks from the sales  department and spoke to kearnan or kaarnan. he told they wouldn’t be able to help since they don’t have the key and it’s a jeep. I WAS A SERVICE ADVISOR AT THAT LOCATION I KNOW  THEY CAN DO THE WORK. I KNOW THE TECHS HAVE AN EXTRACTION TOOL TO REMOVE WHEEL LOCKS. I ran the department. I know the technicians that work there which are my friends but i wanted to things properly  and get a written repair order to do it the correct way. i am not asking for free work nor replace my wheel locks. I would gladly pay for them. Turning me down and telling me non sense is crazy. Before you purchase a USED vehicle make sure your sales rep personally hands you the wheel locks or is in the glove box. I should’ve made sure i had it in the first place.
