Description
This is a Metropolitan Museum of Art three-faces glass biscuit or cracker jar, likely produced by Imperial Glass Co. as a reproduction of an 1875 design. The jar features a reeded (ribbed) column body and guilloche borders. The lid is topped with a frosted glass finial depicting three faces, sometimes referred to as the "three sisters". The original design was created by Jonathan Ernest Miller, which became the George Duncan & Sons Glass Co. pattern. The MMA re-issue was produced in the 1980s or 1990s.
