Classic GMC in Arlington was recommended to us by an acquaintance. The recommendation was spot on. Travis Lancaster actually met us as we walked in the door. He had excellent knowledge of the vehicles. He worked nonstop to answer our questions, showed us  multiple options and was patient with us as we considered each. When it came to making our decision Travis didn’t pressure us. When we met with Art we had the most seamless and quick presentation of our options for financing. This purchase was not our first time to buy a vehicle BUT it was the BEST experience . We would highly recommend Travis and the whole group and Classic GMC. We feel confident they will respond promptly with any concerns we might have after we have driven off the lot. In fact Travis called us the next day to assure everything was going good! All the Classic dealerships are the same and adopt the same practices. Just go to CarMax or buy a Tesla. It’s less hassle and you don’t have to worry about being scammed.

I am sharing my personal experience so others know what to watch for and can protect themselves by carefully reviewing their contract.

After I clearly stated that I did not want any add-on products, additional charges were still included in my contract. Some items were added later, renamed, or presented in a way that made them difficult to recognize as add-ons at the time of signing.

Certain contract pages and disclosures were not provided to me at the dealership. I did not receive a complete copy of the contract until afterward, and that is when I discovered charges I had not agreed to.

Based on my experience, buyers should closely review and question items such as:
•	“Safety packages” or similarly named fees where no specific safety-related work is clearly identified
•	Debt cancellation products that are not required by the lender and are administered by the dealer or a third party
•	“Bank” or lender-named service contracts that appear as large charges (often $1,000–$6,000) but function as optional service agreements
•	Claims that tire, wheel, rim, dent protection, or oil changes are being “included for free,” as these costs may be built into the contract
•	Statements that a down payment is required by the bank—ask which bank and verify directly
•	Claims that you are upside down on a trade without clear documentation

I also recommend closely reviewing any line items described as “tax incentives” or similar. In my experience, a higher trade figure was verbally shown by combining the trade value with a so-called tax incentive (for example, showing $21,166 instead of a $20,000 trade). When the contract was finalized, only the actual trade value appeared. Buyers should confirm how trade values and taxes are calculated and ensure the numbers on paper match what is being represented.

My advice to others: request every page of the contract before signing, decline anything you don’t want in writing, verify lender requirements directly with the bank, and walk away or consult an attorney if items appear after you’ve said no or documents are missing.

I stopped by Arlington GMC expecting just to get an oil change, and ended up upgrading into a 2026 GMC Sierra. Julio was the one who helped me out, and I really appreciated his approach. He was knowledgeable, patient, and never tried to push anything on me. He simply walked me through the options, answered every question, and made the whole process easy. I drove off in a brand new truck feeling confident about my decision. Great experience all around.
