Vintage Women’s Wool Coat

This vintage cream colored wool winter coat is in excellent condition. The wool coat is fully lined with satin including the pockets. The coat is a union label coat from the 1950s/1960s International Ladies’ Garment Workers’ Union (ILGWU). The coat has all original labels, buttons and lining. It also has concealed clasps along the collar. The coat is 43 inches long from collar the hem. It is 18 inches across the back from armpit to armpit. The sleeves from shoulder to hem are 25 inches. The coat is extra large size. The coat was made by Crowley’s Department Store in Detroit. Crowley’s was one of Detroit’s Big Three of the downtown retailers. The store opened in 1906 and was considered an icon for fashion and luxury until closing in 1977. This coat has obvious top of the line craftsmanship and is extremely warm despite the fashionable suit like feminine cut.
